JSC START Kazan Plant is one of the oldest chemical industry enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan, holding a stable market position and actively implementing new priority directions of production.
The history of our enterprise begins in 1949, when at the Kuibyshev Kazan Production Association “Tasma” the USSR’s only production of special films for the defense industry was launched. This technology was developed by the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) in Moscow and to this day has no analogs worldwide.
In 1990, a reorganization took place: the special films production workshop was converted into the chemical plant “Start,” which in 1994 was renamed Joint Stock Company “START.” On June 18, 2024, based on the decision of the annual general meeting of shareholders, the enterprise was renamed to JSC “Kazan START Plant” (abbreviated as JSC “KZP”).

Production and Technology
- Until 2000, the main business direction of the enterprise was the production of metal-bonding films VK-3, VK-3A, VK-25, VK-32-200, PKS-171, MPF-1.
However, in recent years the product range has significantly expanded and now includes over 60 items, including civilian products. - In addition to metal-bonding films, the company began manufacturing liquid adhesives, epoxy and film binders, solvents, and other materials.
- Employees of JSC KZP continuously work on mastering new types of products.
As part of the import substitution program, the following product formulations were developed:
– Adhesive BFT-52 (analog of an Italian one), intended for manufacturing automobile brake pads,
– Film binder BFP (analog of a German product), used in the production of bulletproof vests and helmets.
No similar products exist on the Russian market.
